It’s often said that it’s intimidating to photograph other photographers, but strangely enough I don’t find that to be the case. This is the second time that Kate has been in front of my lens (the first was when I made her promo film a few years back and she is just so easygoing and natural, that several hours just flew by without me even noticing.
I’m a little bit in love with shooting maternity portraits now – particularly when I’m given full artistic license – I’m as much in love with shadow as I am with the light, and there’s something about photographing a woman who is about to become a mother (first time or not) in a quiet, dark intimate space that just gives me goosebumps.
