We're all mad here

...but we'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.

We are natural light, fine-art photographers obsessed with shooting love stories and real people. Our unique non-posed style draws from documentary and connection photography enabling us to tell your story in a heartfelt, authentic way.

We are primarily based in Brisbane, Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, but will travel to the moon and back for love.

say hi!

The Whisky + the Moon Team are:

ERICA WHEADON (PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHER)

Erica holds a Bachelor of Media from Southern Cross University. She began her career as a high school Film & TV teacher, before moving into corporate videography and training, and sliding sideways into more creatively fulfilling pursuits. She began taking on wedding and portraiture clients several years later, launching Wildhearted & Hitched – a clan of boutique elopement specialists on the Gold Coast that helped hundreds of couples run away and elope in stunning locations – before running away herself to the NSW South Coast to be a writer.

Lured back by warmer weather, Erica returned home to Queensland with a renewed desire for storytelling and human connection. When she’s not shooting, she’s finishing her Masters degree. You can find her haunting speakeasy bars and bookstores, making new Spotify playlists or working on her book.

Laura Sharp-Wheadon (Associate Photographer)

Laura is a Bachelor of Photography student at Queensland College of Art, completing a major in Photo Documentary.

In 2016, Laura won the Tamborine Mountain College Arts Award and her work was nominated for the Creative Generations Excellence in Visual Art Education Awards. In 2017, she completed her Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging at the South Bank Institute of TAFE, before continuing her education at QCA. Laura’s photography focuses on human connection and storytelling, and believes that the soul of every image lies in each imperfection.

You can find her at LARP, shooting the streets of Brisbane
or planning her next cosplay.
